a very very fun book , very clearly and concisly described. about the unique( at least on earth) ability to use symbols to describe all things and situations, and therefore, have a unlimited ability for progress. so in this book, the Memes, that can produce the testably useful new outcomes is good(i cant write this right now)

One of the best and most optimistic books on science I've read, this brings back fond memories of reading Sagan and Bronowski and should be required reading for anyone even remotely interested in what science is about.

Wow. Tons of insight on how to maintain a sense of optimism, a sense for the unknown and running toward it. Because without that, we destroy the creativity, ideas and knowledge we use for fueling or advancement. Read on for the details.

Excellent philosophy book about many different topics. Mainly describes how humans are working to understand the world using explanations. He has a detailed definition of explanation, and how they help us understand the world. All explanations are fallible, but if they help us to better understand the world and how things work they don't have to be perfect.
