I watched the movie when I was a kid but I never read the poem. Even as an adult, I can say that Dr. Seuss is weirdly amusing.

I had lots of fun reading this! The rhyming lines and the pictures are perfect for kids, and it teaches kids too that having fun is not always a good thing if you do it in the wrong way, and that you should always clear up after you make a mess.

2.5 - read this with my godson, I haven't got a childhood connection to Dr Seuss and wouldn't have picked it up on my own. But he enjoyed it well enough

I get that it's a classic, but the story is problematic for me. Still, a fun read. Kind of funny to imagine anyone leaving their kids for the day these days, huh?

Read it with my child this morning, and we both enjoyed it a lot. She loved the play with sounds and loved to repeat it and read it. Since she finished this one, she searched for more books by Dr. Seuss and went on reading. I enjoyed listening to her the whole time too.
These little poems are perfect for kids, even the non-English natives (but that know the language enough to enjoy of course).

The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss

This is one of, if not the best children's book ever, in the world. It was something I loved when I was younger, but it's still loved today.
I volunteer at a local primary school, and this story was met by excitement and then complete silence while I read the book. This has always been and will always be a children's classic.
