This book just randomly surfaced in my memory like 10 years after reading it. I remember it being a fantastic middle grade book and constantly rereading it in 3rd/4th grade.

This is such an excellent middle-grade story. The characters and events and puzzles and almost-quasi-fantasy fun are so much fun to read. There's a solid plot keeping the story moving even behind the Gollywhopper Games. We have a similarly solid cast to follow, filled with fantastic characters. The reader not only gets to follow the story, but along the way gets to try to solve puzzles alongside the team. Exciting, enchanting, and engaging.

You can't get much better than this!!!!

I really enjoyed this book. I read it based upon reviews that I saw on a couple of literacy blogs. This is sure to be my first read aloud this school year.

This book reminds me of Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Quick read and fast tempo will make this a fun family read.

It's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but without the whimsy. I enjoyed the puzzles and the emphasis on problem-solving - I just wish that it were less derivative.

Enjoyable, although too neat in its conclusion.

Very cute. It's all about atmosphere; I've heard it compared to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and while I think it lacks the whimsy that Dahl's book has, it's still a very good, very fun read.

I really liked this book. It reminded me of another book I read, Escape from Mr. Lemencello's Library. Both books feature puzzles that the characters have to solve, but this book was in a rather different way.

I really liked solving the puzzles on my own first before turning the page or reading to the next paragraph. Some were really easy, and some I couldn't answer until I found out what the solutions were. Then I got it and tried to remember.

This book was really interesting to read. I liked the characters and the plot. It was a remarkable story. I hope to read more like it.
