I loved the storyline of this book. These characters didn’t just say “keep Christmas in your heart all year round” they actually did it.

This book was sadder than I expected though.
There was a storyline with one of the characters finding out her mom had cancer. This wasn’t mentioned in the book description and I wish it hadn’t been in the book. In the past few years I have lost one cat and my father to cancer. And, while thankfully she survived,  saw my mother-in-law go through the exact type of cancer the character in the book had. It was hard to read about!

Despite the sad part of the story, I enjoyed the book very much otherwise.

When Arianna and Sunny both have bad Christmas days they spontaneously decide to celebrate Christmas again. Why celebrate Christmas just once a year when you can celebrate it once a month?

Friends Molly and Arianna’s mom  join in as well. Then Molly’s daughter and granddaughter join in. All the kids, step-kids, grandkids, boyfriends etc, start celebrating together.

Their holiday celebrations sounded like fun. It’s really not a bad idea at all to celebrate something every month. I think it’s rather genius.

As the year progresses, life changes for everyone in good ways and bad. There is sickness and health, sadness and happiness, and continuing to celebrate brings happiness when everyone needs it the most. It also brings this loosely tied group of people close enough that they become family.
