This book is great but the beginning is very jarring with the perspective change and time jump.

Way too long!!! A lot of boring parts. The beginning and the ending were good, but a lot of the middle should've been cut out, there was no need for it to be that long!

Really love this series and while I love the first book the most because of the story there. I love the characters more and more with every next book, as they get more defined and grown up.

Now I want to go to Scotland.

I LOVED the second Outlander book so much, but it has me soooo emotionally messed up! It answered all the questions I had from book one, only to create a whole new set of cliffhangers that are begging me to start book 3. I'm so conflicted because I almost feel like the story kind of came to a good end and I was... almost okay with it, especially since I can't imagine what new craziness Diana reveals in Voyager. But at the same time, I know I would be pissed off if this is where it ended so I'm definitely going into the next one with high anticipation. Dragonfly in Amber was very historically motivated, which was incredibly interesting. I really enjoyed the whole France setting in the first half of the book too; I wasn't expecting the books to stray from Scotland, but I liked the intertwined histories and cultures, especially surrounding the insane politics. It was also cool to read about real historical figures (*cough* Charles *cough*) as actual humans because it increases one's sense of the reality of the past, rather than glorifying individuals based on biased or exaggerated stories. And Jamie and Claire are in my top 5 OTPs... steamy and hilarious as always! This is just such a good series, I'm absolutely obsessed with everything about it.
