I was a little disappointed.

I loved previous books and to be honest I didn't expect another one because the story was very nicely finished, the bad guy defeater, everyone is happy -ish. So this release was a nice and unexpected surprise that left me disappointed and wishing I didn't read it.

What I'm trying to say, its a good book. The story is interesting and it is well written. The characters are still true to their natures and the story is interesting. But there is a BIG but!

I would not have this as a continuation of the Invisible Library series and have it as a separate thing. It was so disjointed from the original plot that anyone could pick it up without reading previous books and be just fine. I was expecting more, and didn't get it. I wanted answers and didn't get any. I wanted some serious relationship drama or something from Kai and Irene and didn't get any. The fact that the whole thing happened over 3-4 days felt a bit rushed. I might be a little harsh but then the previous books set the standard quite high.
