Some points I don’t agree with but some absolute golden nuggets. Every time my mind would start wandering as I read some points that I didn’t enjoy there would be a piece of wisdom that would leave me thinking about it. It has come at a time when I have a lot on my mind and so many points were so relevant to me. I will definitely read this again at some point with a highlighter marking my favourite bits

Een review over een dagboek.. ja hij heeft het geschreven, niet? Wat kan ik er over vertellen.
We gaan allemaal dood. En als iemand je pijn doet moet je het zo laten want hij is verantwoordelijk voor zichzelf.

This is really my first introduction to Stoicism and I really enjoyed it. This is a quick read but is densely packed with nuggets of wisdom and thoughts on how to live. It is pretty accessible too and never felt too heady for a book of philosophical thoughts by Marcus Aurelius.
My two cents: worry more about yourself and what you can control and less about the things and people outside of your control. Much of what ales or vexes us is in our own heads.

A Stoic classic which employs Aurelius' wisdom and experience as an emperor and a philosopher to reflect on life in clear didactic methodology fitting of the Stoic discipline. Surprisingly with artistic influence and relatively universal, it has survived and served as a guide for many to the modern day, despite some advice being unable to translate to the modern day. Aurelius has taught me a lot and will be added to the compass which I navigate through life.
