My favorite Barbara Holloway novel yet. It was well written, a good story, and compelling characters. I hope the trend continues with book 7.

This is one of the best Barbara Holloway books that I have read so far. The first chapter started out very slow for me, but it picked up fairly quickly after that.

I like this author's characters. Interesting story, I'll be picking up other books by her.

Perception and its influence on instant judgment of character form the theme here. While the story build is great for the recurring characters, I did not buy the who that dunit. I would have liked to buy it, it was a neat ending, but it was awfully contrived.
Spoiler
The abused wife finally kills the zealot husband, fair enough, but I do not see her spending her entire life protecting her kids from her husband just to kill herself and leave them orphans.
