There's enough mystery and questions as the book opens to hold readers attention with Greenwich Park. It wasn't as suspenseful or thriller-esc as I thought it would be. And the ending kinda leaves readers standing on a damp beach, on a midsummer day. 🤷🏾‍♀️ I would've liked it better if Helen's character got more out of it in the end, even if she was pregnant the entire book; other people were in more control of her life and the things happening around her than she was.

I loved this book.

Although the action takes its time, everything kinda slowly evolves, this story is brilliantly written and keeps the reader hooked till the end. Think about twists and turns! This book has them all.

Usually, a book is a huge turn off for me when I cannot connect with any of the characters. Somehow, this story, these characters, are different. They are all very hateful, still I just kept reading because I could not put this book down.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It was an amazing read just in time to finish the year.

Disclaimer: I received a copy through a GoodReads giveaway. Thank you to Gallery Books for the opportunity to read this book.

This book at me cheering at the end. Strange considering as I started this I wondered if I would be able to get into the book. It starts off real slow, but then as I read I could feel my heart beating. My mind eager to get to the next chapter and then the next and so on. I constantly was going back and forth on my predictions, who would turn out to be the villain. I devoured the book in two sittings. Faulkner wrapped everything up so perfectly, leaving nothing unexplained or forgotten.

Wonderful thriller, would suggest for fans of thrillers like Verity

HOLY SMOKES BATMAN CHECK THOSE TW —

I don’t feel like I should’ve enjoyed this. It had many elements I typically despise in a thriller. Truthfully, the audiobook narrator sold it for me. She did such an incredible job I was hooked. Objectively, this book says a lot and I don’t think it shines proper light on heavy subjects… I think it was handled well, but the outcome is a bit grim and catastrophic. With that being said though, similar to some of the other thrillers I’ve given 5 stars, the *very* last line is what brought it home for me. I sat here in complete silence after finishing this with my jaw hanging open. I was relieved. Surly they wouldn’t end it on the note it was ending on…. Thankfully it ended the way it should have. Man I was relieved. This was a stunning debut.
