Way too over the top, both as to the sex and the violence. And I thought I was made of pretty stern stuff. But I just could not keep plugging away when I reached that scene about the vibrator and the intercom or something along those lines...had nothing to do with the plot that I could see and was just downright bizarre.
Bit of a pity, since Block's Matt Scudder books are among my favorites in this genre.
