grant county was amazing but i can't even express how stoked i am to finally start this series. i'd heard will trent contains massive spoilers for grant county so if ur anything like me and can't sleep at night knowing this, read gc first. it's really good.
the first half of the book is just... freakin brilliant. second half is good but pales a bit in comparison. i can already tell this series is gonna make the cases in gc look like child's play.
but overall i'm excited to continue following these characters. i'm just hoping one character in specific is sticking around

i liked the narration a lot of this book. the way it started from michael’s pov was really interesting and reminded me of the show criminal minds (it usually starts from the perpetrator’s pov). i really enjoyed the plot and i really liked john and learning his background and then finding out how everything comes together and is interconnected. i thought that was really well done, and there were definitely parts that shocked me in the book.
