I liked the change of pace in the latter half of this volume and how the story delved into some more complex issues. I do still roll my eyes at how stupid Anya can be in regards to Damian. I also think Yuri is generally more annoying than enjoyable to see in this series, and ironically Loid (& Yor/Anya) also agree he's a pain to have in the story. I am intrigued by whatever weird mumbo jumbo is going on with Damian's mother, that's really a weird mystery.

This was a fantastic volume. It has all the light hearted moments that we all love from the previous volumes with the over the top spy schemes that always seem to workout, and some great moments with Yuri.
I loved the last few chapters that really focus and show how much Anya has grown but also showing that she is still a child. I thought it was amazing to see her help resolve the situation. It really showcases how much she has been growing with Loid and Yor as her parents.

I cannot wait to continue the series.

Another fantastic volume, I missed Spy x Family so much! It starts off hilarious as Loid is struggling with his boss at work, who doesn't like him despite all his best efforts. In order to keep up his cover, Loid has worked on establishing good contact with his colleagues, but his boss hates that he has become too popular. Like the true mastermind he is, Loid ends up bringing him around in the end, with the help of Fiona and Franky (in disguise). I still don't like Fiona's obsession with Loid (I wish she had more to her character than that) but I love it when she has to team up with Franky, as those two couldn't be more different 😂

Things quickly get serious when Anya's school bus gets abducted by a terrorism cell called the Red Circus. Everyone is terrified as they're now hostages as the leader of the cell is trying to negotiate with the government. Anya can of course read their abductors' minds, so she tries to find a way to get them to safety. On the outside, everyone is getting involved to rescue the class, including Loid's boss Sylvia and the Secret Police. Yuri isn't too thrilled to be rescuing Anya, but knows how much her loss would devastate Yor, so he's not to be stopped. Despite the serious situation, there are quite a few comedic moments, as everyone thinks Anya has nerves of steel when it's just her telepathy powers that let her know more. Anya also still plans to befriend Damian, so this is almost a bonding situation for them, as she knows how terrified he is. Because Yor is getting closer to Damian's mother, Anya is desperate to win the 'friendship war' and befriend Damian first, so the mission can advance 😂

The ending was quite sweet as Anya's demeanor cracks when Yor embraces her 😢 Despite being able to read the kidnapper's minds, she's still a young girl who was in a high stakes situation. It was also was to hear Damian say that he's not that close to his parents, so anyone using him to get into their good graces is trying to use him in vain. In the end, his mother does show up and since Anya's here we see how obsessed she is with Damian. It would be sweet, except there is something sinister to her thoughts and I can't wait to see more 👀
