Overall well written and interesting, this book shed light on various aspects of the Trinbagonian lifestyle, even making mention of the notorious 'Club Eden'. The writer included local dialect in dialogue and the characters were well crafted, exhibiting multidimensional qualities showing them to be very well thought out.
Past the mid-point of the book however, leading on towards the end, I found myself restless and a bit bored with the story line; it took too long for the writer to wrap up the loose ends of the plot and tie everything together, despite alluding to the connections between characters from relatively early.
The book is far from a fairy tale, as a warning for those who may be suckers for very happy endings. Much was also left up to the further imagination of the reader regarding the future fate of some of the main characters one may have grown to appreciate, which can be regarded as a glass either half empty or half full.
