Guys, im just not sure about this one...... I found the start of the story a little unrealistic, very angst driven, as in I learnt more about who likes who than why they were on the dig in the first place.. There seemed like there was a lot of tension at the start of the book that wasn't explained or addressed and then they get lost in a sandstorm and have to survive in the desert and this is when the "you dont know what is real what is fake" confusion begins. I enjoyed a fair but of this book for its entertainment factor but honestly I was confused and a bit (dare I say it) bored through most of it.
I really wanted to love this, I love to support local authors but it just wasn't for me.

When a group of friends finds themselves lost in the desert after a sandstorm destroys the campsite of an archeological dig, they they seek safety in an oasis, only to discover that something far more terrifying lies in wait there. This YA supernatural thriller unfolds slowly at first but takes on a breathless pace once the adventure begins.  Romance-averse folks, be aware that there is a small romantic subplot; however, it is minimal and the focus is on survival.

An excellent light read with a five-star ending for when you crave a fast-paced adventure.

This book really messed with my head. I’m still not even sure I know what was real and what wasn’t but I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. 3.5 stars

This book is mysterious and creepy. It's all the best elements of Indiana Jones, The Mummy, and a Star Trek episode rolled together.

Wonderful story and refreshing science fiction. Loved all the characters Alif, Tommy, Luke, Minh, Lori and Rowen. The writing was atmospheric and it made the oasis feel real to me.
