I truly enjoyed this book - Nadia's story evolved throughout this book. Nadia ends up at a convention, and via those interactions, we learn so much about her past and why she's avoided this convention for years.

I thought this was a cute short read - I want you to need between some larger, more intense romances.

Absolutely perfection. I squished this book and squealed a lil after finishing it because it is totally heartwarming. Uzma is a great author and I absolutely love the stories she makes. Nada and Baz are soooo cute and I didn't expect that twist 👀 highly recommend.

I'm a sucker for a book with characters from a different culture and even more so for a second chance romance.  And a retelling of a Jane Austen novel.  Hello, I was all in.

I liked the characters and thought the author did a good job with the retelling.  It may have been the setting of the Muslim community or it could just be me and my moods, but I did think the story was a little detailed for the setup and rushed towards the end.  I would have been a bigger fan if that was smoothed out a little.

But ultimately this had great characters in a community I know nothing about.

I need to stop reading purported Persuasion retellings because there seems to be an epidemic of misunderstanding the core characters and conflicts.

If I set that aside, however, I can see the appeal of this narrative. The world the author constructs is rich, and I enjoyed the mix of familiar and freshly specific. I didn't love the over-reliance on multiple flashbacks, much less with the 'gotcha' twists, but I acknowledge the target audience will be more accepting. Glad I finally met this author's work, but hardly a favorite.
