A great book that includes censorship, WWII, and queer representation. The book is led by women, and I appreciate their drive, sensitivity, and creativity.

The first half was hard to get into with 3 characters and storylines that are very similar. I struggled telling them apart. Then, once they became intertwined the book got much better. I enjoyed the message and the different WWII perspective that I haven’t read about before.

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC of this book. I don't read a ton of historical fiction, but the premise & promise of some queer characters, plus great writing, kept me motivated. I loved the way the stories wove together, and the themes felt all too relevant in a society that seems to be sliding back into fascism. This book was excellent & very timely.
