I adored the Plastic Magician. I liked it way more than The Paper Magician, but I did appreciate the cameo from Ceony and Mg. Thane. I loved how we were given a comparison between not only the folding magic and plastic magic but also the difference between how it's approached in America and England. These were great details that made me fall for the book quickly.
I felt that Alvie was extremely clever and relatable and that her relationship with Bennet was incredibly sweet. I don't know that I was all that surprised by who was behind all of the chaos she encounters, but I don't think it was meant to be a surprise. I can't wait to see where Alvie's story goes, and I hope that it continues soon!

Not following the same characters as the 1st 3 books, but still just as delightful.

Having not read Holmberg's original series I wasn't sure what to expect or if I would be lost. I was happy to discover that reading the Paper Magicians trilogy was not mandatory. This book was an easy and enjoyable read with an air of intrigue and suspect and a hint of romance. Alvie is a wonderful lead that I immediately felt kinship to, I cannot wait for the next in the series!

Although it was not about Ceony and Emery, I'm glad we got a glimpse of what their life has progressed into. And Alvie is adorable and just as bad ass as Ceony. I enjoyed this.
