hello be more assassin-y miss Celaena. everyone and their mothers enter her bedroom at night and she doesn’t wake up although she set up the hinges to make noise to… wake her up.
the relationships paces are realistic, like no one is falling straight into each other’s arms, so that’s a redeeming feature. you have the time to be like oh so this relationship might go in this direction.

I KNOW people love this book. And I KNOW people love Sarah J Mass. but this book was honestly just boring? The main character is kinda annoying - she’s blond haired, blue eyed, athletic, smart, loves music, and saves puppies. AND everyone is in love with her!

Idk all the characters felt one dimensional. I really wanted to like Nehemia, but her character just didn’t have the depth I was hoping for. I didn’t feel connected the characters. It felt almost like what they said didn’t sound authentic to the characters. I might give the second book a chance, but not anytime soon. I’ve heard the second book is much better. Heard the same for ACOTAR but I’m not gonna rant about that one here.

I do really enjoy the premise so far.
Low-key I wish Celaena were little more assassin-y lol
