Ahhh, Mercy and Adam. I need an Adam in my life. Seriously, I've missed Mercy and glad to get caught back up on her coyote mischief.

Mercy and the pack save the Tri-Cities from being destroyed by a troll. Zee introduces Mercy to a human named Aiden who gained mysterious powers after surviving in Underhill after the fae were expelled from Underhill. Mercy agrees to harbor Aiden from the fae for 24 hours, and she offers sanctuary for other creatures that want to seek refuge in the Tri-Cities. The addition of Sunshine and Thomas Hao was lovely. I remember reading their short story in another book, and it was I really nice to see the characters again. Adam finally lays down the law and tells his wolves that he will destroy them if he hears them being disrespectful to Mercy. Adam and his pack are removed from the Marrok's pack. I loved the addition of Aiden. The personification of Underhill was really unique, and she seemed especially terrifying.

The introduction of new characters (yay!), reunions with old favorites...it's a good time. That said, I'll concur with a previous commenter on another book in this series: take some time between each book, even the year or two it takes them to come out. Burnt out on alpha males and a couple other recurring issues, though the truly excellent pacing kept me engaged as always.

This one may be on me. I may have stopped paying attention when everything started going the exact same as normal, but it did seem to have a great emotional ending and battle so uhm..... woops
