The story of Gabriel and Julia continues in this book.

I will say I wasn’t a fan of this book it has so much jealousy, in the beginning, it was almost off-putting. I get that it is all new to her and everything but she is in her 20’s and seemed to me to be a smart woman. You would think she would know that jealousy no matter how misplaced can put a strain on a relationship.

Gabriel and the narration really are what kept me listening. This story was so very long for what the theme really is. Could have been done in half the time. Sorry, it just was toooo long. When nothing really happened.

I am going to miss the professor and Julianne so much. There are lots of couples in my romances that I love but few rival the passion that flows between Professor Gabriel Emerson and his now-wife, Juianne. After what felt like a wait of forever (it really wasn’t THAT long), I finally got my hands on Gabriel’s Redemption and devoured it one day.

I have got to learn how to savor these last books in a series when they come out.

We enter Redemption with Gabriel and Julianne as newlyweds, Julianne is back in the world of research and studying while Gabriel is thinking about becoming a father. If you remember though, Gabriel had a vasectomy because he was never going to through that again. It was too much the first time. So we have Julianne wanting to complete her studies, Gabriel needing surgery if he is ever going to try to have a child with her, and a whole bunch of stress caused by all of the above.

We get to see inside the heads of some of the past characters this time like Christa (thank you Sylvain!) and Paul, we learn more about Julianne’s father, Rachel and Aaron, Simon even. I think we honestly received closure for every single character.

I loved it. This has been one of my favorite series since I picked up Gabriel’s Inferno, and I think that Gabriel’s Redemption did the series justice. There was one moment towards the end that I thought I was going to lose it and start crying like a baby, but I made it through it (so does Gabriel).

It was beautiful.

I always have another thought going through my mind as I read each book of this series. Sylvain Reynard is incredibly intelligent. I know there are acknowledgements in the back of the book given to experts, but really truly, for this book to be written he had to know a lot about Dante to begin with, on the theories that surround it, on the locations used in the stories. Inferno is not something just makes one say hey, I am going to write a book centered around their mutual love of beginning of this epic poem from the 14th century that scholars have been studying and picking apart for I have no idea how long (I don’t know if they started studying it right away or centuries later) without knowing something about it to begin with. Honestly, I have learned more about Dante, Divine Comedy, and Inferno from this series than I have probably learned in my entire life.

I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of this tour and I cannot wait to see what comes next from Sylvain Reynard!
