This is an understated book that has grown steadily on me in the hours it took to read and I think will continue to grow on me long afterwards. Its structure is spare and elegant, but with a recurrence of places and ideas that offers a little payoff of familiarity when you unexpectedly encounter them again. Sometimes I thought I wanted more, because none of these essays feels like a hearty full meal, but I came to appreciate how well-made they are. Favorite favorites are " Ӧzdamar's Tongue" and "Blueprint for a House". <3
