I don't know why it took me so long to read this book but I am mad at myself for waiting. This was such a wonderful story and my heart was pounding so hard throughout it, especially at that ending! This is an enemies to lovers story but it's different from the bulk of the stories out there.
Summer is such a great character, she is strong and refuses to let the Fae torture her but she is still human so she still deals with doubts and I think that is wonderful. She gets dealt with a lot of crap throughout the book, these Fae are not the nicest and I think that's really fun! The Winter Prince is the type of Fae we all love, broody but he is also a jerk. I love the interactions between Summer and the Prince. There is also Ruby who is a hilarious drunk sprite and I want to see more of her in the future. Summer has some fun human friends, Mack being the main friend is a great addition and she is so accepting of Summer right from the beginning.
This is just a great story and has wonderful writing. The characters are so fun and I can't wait to read the second book!

In a lot of ways this book reminds me of SJM's Acotar minus the beauty and the beast theme - But because this is academy (or college) themed it brings a bit of a diversity to it. I really enjoyed the read, and though I still compared it to Acotar in a lot of ways it has it's own original plot and intriguing storyline.

Liked this story...
I enjoyed this enemies-to-lovers/fated mates story very much. I especially liked Summer - sassy and headstrong it was hard not root for her every step of the way. Looking forward to continuing on.

Maybe years ago I would have enjoyed this book more but its so similar to several books I have read that I was unable to enjoy it. But I kept reading it so I must have enjoyed it more than I thought.

This is the first book that I have read of Audrey Grey, and I loved it. Her ability description of the Evermore world took me straight into the characters world. I love Summer and the Winter Prince. Their chemistry is off the charts, and there is a constant will they or won't they.
Summer has some fae powers in her, but the question is what? Who is she exactly. She isn't exactly a human, but not fully fae. She is trying to find her way in a whole new world that she has always told to stay away from.
Will she find out her powers? Will she get together with the prince? Will she last at Evermore academy? Read the book to find out!!!

Really enjoyed the writing style. When I started this book, spotify was playing this fantastic song, all fantasy-ish and kinda whimsical, cottage-corey. The mood of the book and the song mixed together to give me an amazing starting experience for the book, and that's probably why I'm willing to overlook a lot of flaws and just focus on the positives and rate this 4 stars. I just wish I had started this series later so I wouldn't have to wait for the last 2 books. I'm probably gonna forget everything by the time the 3rd book comes out.
I liked the heroine and her growth. At times she was a bit mary-sue-ish, but thankfully not everything just came to her magically. So she actually had to work hard and we could experience her growth right alongside her. The hero was a bit meh, we don't really see much of his personality other than just brooding and the occasional annoying scenes with his typical mean girl girlfriend.
Some parts of the book made no sense. Like, why are the fae being taught by teachers who're waaaaaaay less powerful than them, if this is the most elite academy? Seriously what sort of "elite" school has such powerless teachers that they can't do anything at all to control the students? At one point it's told that they come into their power at 500 years of age, while the hero is mentioned to be 3500 yo and the most powerful fae of all time. So how come he's at the academy so late? The timeline of the fae being revealed to the human world also made no sense to me. At one point it's implied they only got revealed a few years ago due to a disaster hitting and the Shimmer(veil thingy) going up when half of America disappeared or whatever, and this was during the heroine's own lifetime; but then the heroine's best friend Mack mentions that her parents have also worked at the Evermore academy and are legacy shadows, so how does that work? Also also, the heroine says her "aunt" zinnia and violet discover her on the streets/save her when they went to look for their own daughters (or at least one of them did, don't remember which one) and again mentions they saved her from traffickers and the huge disaster hit later on. Is it me? Am I not paying enough attention to the details or am I paying too much attention? There's a lotta inconsistencies in my opinion.

This book surprised me. In a good way. has potential and I have to admit, its been awhile since a dystopian peaked my interest.
