I never write reviews, and this technically isn’t one, but if a book makes me smile and laugh out loud literally from start to finish, I have to give it a 5 star rating!

This book was written by a 9-year-old in the late 1800s. I think the movie is a riot, and they complement each other well, though I did prefer the book’s ending a bit more. They tried to keep all the adorable misspellings, and Daisy’s perception of British societal hierarchy and how to move through it is both hilarious and surprisingly perceptive. Well worth the read!

There's some very funny stuff here. For example, here is a description of one of the characters: "She had very nice feet and plenty of money. Her name was Lady Helena Herring and her age was 25 and she mated well with the earl."

Late Victorian novel written by a precocious nine year old. Sometimes kind of funny, mildly interesting as unintentional genre parody.

An absolutely delightful little book. A breath of fresh air. One of the few books that made me laugh out loud all throughout reading it!
