As with other McFadden's works I tried working out what the twist is going to be in the first couple of chapters. Though the book seemed to be much more predictable than the others, the twist was unexpected. I truly thought I had this one figured out. I am only giving the book three stars due to the predictability and some personal biases. Overall, this is a classic McFadden and I enjoyed it.

so here we are again. im sad to say this was not one of my favorites, but still i did enjoy it. even though i didn’t really read this book that fast, i still felt like i did.

as i’ve said before, freida, they could never make me hate you.

i can’t even say anymore that she doesn’t have good books, because she does. whoever hates on her is just too serious. her books are to have a good and entertaining time, not to be world changing novel.

overall this defiantly placed in the middle of her books that i like. i recommend it, but wasn’t in love with it like i have with others.

give it a read if you want to be entertained for a bit.

Can I just say thank God for the end because this was looking at a 2 star, but I liked the end. The characters were just almost unbearable. The husband(Sam) was SO blind to the fact that this woman(Monica) was obviously trying to get with him that I wanted to smack him. The wife(Abby) knew what was going on but yet said NOTHING to her. I'd honestly have been ready to fight at that front seat stunt. This is my car and only my momma gonna boot me out my seat.

Abby and Sam want to have a baby but Abby is infertile. Enter her beautiful, young assistant who offers to be their surrogate and you’re in for a wild ride.

A couple things that led to the reduction of a star:
1) it’s never made clear why Denise is so hard on Abby. Yeah, she’s seen her potential and expects a lot from her but you’d think she could be nicer.
2) Abby is extremely paranoid. All the time. To the point that it’s beyond annoying at times.

Overall, it’s a good book. A tad out there and sort of unbelievable at times but that’s what makes it fun.

LOVE all of her books that I have read. Always has a great twist that I do not see coming. Does a great job of making the main characters likeable. Always has a great plot and story line without too much filler or drama.

I honestly don’t know why I’m shocked at the fact that I never know who done it in Freida’s books. I literally never know. This one, though, I had a “yes” and “no” reason for everyone and STILL GOT IT WRONG.

Abby and Sam have a dream of becoming parents but due to their infertility they’re having to look into other options. They find a young girl who isn’t ready to have a baby and have chosen them to be the adoptive parents and they finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for the dreams.

In comes sketchy people, drugs, murder, jealousy.. and everything in between.. can their dream withstand everything being thrown at them or will it shatter right in front of them?

Whenever I’m in a slump and need pulled out I grab a good FM book and BAM. Her writing style, characters, plots, twists.. everything just grabs me and keeps me turning those pages.
