Objectively an important book, probably did not enjoy as much given the school midterm week context.

i feel like i cannot give a proper review of this book from my subjective opinion because this is non-fiction, so bears a terrible weight on me that this all happened to one individual man, whilst knowing that his torture and brutalisation is not unique. this book was difficult to read in some places, not only because of the content but also because of it being written in the 1780s, so the language is very very very dense and there are entire paragraphs that are just one sentence, broken up by semi-colons. for 236 pages, it felt longer than a dostoyevskyÂ
