It’s VERY gory. I don’t like gore and therefore didn’t really like the book. It’s pretty much all gore and no storyline. All that said, I still finished it so that says something.

This was...fun? Which feels wrong to say. I'd like to see it as a movie.

Such a fun read. Feels like an episode of Supernatural on steroids.

Fast-paced writing and an entertaining cast of well fleshed-out characters. Sentence pacing was perfect, the chapters were all a good length, no scene felt like it was taking too long; even in the beginning before the action takes place. And the first line?!? A flawless hook.

Never knew what was going to happen next, yet once it happened it made perfect sense. Not a single character felt out of place, which is honestly rare these days in horror: there wasn’t any character who was there solely to fill a trope. Everyone truly had their own purpose both in the story and in other’s character arcs.

Jeff Strand is a talented writer. Will be reading more books of his in the future.
