I really hated this book! So much deceit! It made it difficult to connect to the characters, or care about what happened to them. The book dragged for so much drama, and the ending felt wrong, as if Tessie should have no ultimate consequences for her actions. I think this is the last time I'll be reading a book by this author!

This was my favorite book of the series. I read it in two days--it was so good I couldn't put it down!

About this book:

“Of her Old Order parents' five daughters, Tessie Miller is the last to marry. She has her heart set on Amishman Marcus King, but Tessie's father opposes the match.
Impetuously, Tessie and Marcus elope to the English world, then return to Hickory Hollow to live as singles, trusting they'll convince the Millers to give their love a chance over time. But when the unthinkable happens, Tessie faces the almost-certain censure of the People. Will she find a reason for hope in spite of her desperate plight?”

Pre & New Teens-
Three Stars {Though, I personally think the girl should be at least High School aged when she reads this book}

High School Teens-
Four Stars

My Personal Rating-
Three (and a half)

If you read other’s reviews of this book not all of them are very kind, because they’re looking at it from an adult Point of View not a 18/19 year old which Tessie is. I found “The Last Bride” very interesting and the plot twist blew me away! I mean, I did not see that coming!

*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author.

The Last Bride Tessie does something that goes against her father and mother. Though they try and live as single until her father can give their love a chance. They go about it for it seem to work. Then a tragic happens to her husband. Though thing go even more strangely/ Everyone thinks she did something that is a sin. She does not feel the need to repent and she also knows she could get shunned.

An excellent book. I really enjoyed it. I love Beverly Lewis and I wish I could live in Hickory Hollow (Lancaster County, PA).

A great story.
Well loved characters are back, from her earlier stories in Hickory Hollow and
some new characters to love as well.
