I love the series but I think I was a bit too old for these two books so they kinda missed the mark for me. I definitely think a younger audience would enjoy them though.

I just love Colfer's voice for Queen Red - both in his own narration (audio books for the win!) and just the tone that he writes all of her dialogue and writing in. It's hilarious, and very distinctive.
