Very cute - great happy fun times felt the ending was rushed but it’s a HEA so who am I to complain?

Did this have obvious tropes? Omg yes! Was it still awesome? OMG YES!!!! Zoey and Ren were such great characters. Shes down on her luck and kind hearted, he is trying to get home after being imprisoned by humans. And yet their feelings reach one another and they bond becomes something sweet and amazing. So yes it has some typical tropes (only one bed must share, alien escapes government, etc) but its still a wonderful read and anyone that can take common tropes and make them this good are great writers.

This was a solid alien romance. Nothing to be ecstatic about, but the Tiffany Roberts team definitely knows how to write smut. *whew*

You'll like this for these reasons: alien romance, curvy girls got it, too, funny moments with human customs and the English language, traveling cross country, which means close quarters and sharing beds, gratuitous smut, generous lovemaking, hot and heavy sexy times, did I mention the sex?, and a fast-paced story.

It wasn't the best alien romance or romance story I've ever read, but if you want some alien smut, then look no further. The love story was nice; however, it was a little too instant for me. And the plot was predictable. So, depends on what you're looking for in a book. Smut? Check. Intricate plot and details? No. But it was enjoyable, overall.

Would I reread this? No.
Would I recommend it? See above.
Was I entertained? Enough to get a little hot under the collar. After that though, I skimmed the rest of the book since the villain was 1 dimensional and we were guaranteed a happy and unrealistic ending.

You gotta embrace the smut sometimes, Goodreads fiends.

Good fun

I started this book after reading a series of very dark romances. It was the perfect palate cleanser. It had a good mix of silliness/humour and seriousness/romance. I’ll definitely look at their other titles.

A very good read. There wasn’t too much world building as majority of the story took place on Earth and it was a stand alone novel. I really enjoyed the banter between Zoey and Ren. The author did a great job making Zoey feel real and tangible with issues most women struggle with every day. Some of the authors other novels have very slow pacing but this book was evenly paced. You felt the urgency as time was running out for our fugitives. I’d love it if this was made into a series and we could learn more about Ren’s people. Overall, a good read that I’d recommend.

Sweet FMC has to save strong MMC

The beginning of this book felt a bit rocky to me, but it flowed better as the book continued. The MCs had good chemistry and a fast paced love story because they were fleeing for their lives. I thought parts of the epilogue were a bit over the top, but it was definitely a HEA.
I’m a sucker for sweet FMCs and Zoey was 100% sweet. Ren, our alien MMC, was also fairly sweet and tender, given their rough beginning.

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: abduction, mentions of torture and captivity, violence
