I can't understand Guts. I really just think I can't because I had a happy childhood and grew up with no violence. I do understand, however, that guts doesn't want to be looked down on. And when Griffith said "friends are those who I consider equals. No one on the hawks is equal to me" man I wouldn't be his friend anymore.
He doesn't know how to love. I do think he and casca do love each other but I think if they got together it wouldn't last because they don't know how to love. I mean, look at their actions and decisions for each other. It just can't be.
I'm pretty sure at this point Griffith is not human. I don't know if he started out human and was changed like that count, or he has always been higher. Clearly if he's this immortal being that they showed in volume 3, if he's one of the "God hands", that doesn't seem like he could get to that position making deals for power. It may have been him surviving the poisoning with the arrow shot at his heart or the whole thing with the queen and the count and the fire and "the eyes", but I'm certain he was never human.
I really would love casca and guts to heal but I don't think they can. I was really surprised that guts really did leave. They were the only people ever good to him. Respected him. Cared  about his pain. Loved him not just because he's such skilled soldier, but because they liked. Unfortunately, the only person who didn't respect him as a person was Griffith. I can't BELIEVE he had the audacity to force guts to stay because "we had a deal. You and your sword are mine". I mean, fighting for his "freedom", that makes sense because that's how he got in. But seeing that drawing of Griffith's face... he was angry. So angry. He had never been angry before. It wasnt until that panel after he talked to the princess and he had that face.... that sinister smile. That was when I knew he was really evil, not just the egg thing was affecting him. I'm really wondering what happened during the fight. How did guts win? Man I can't wait. This is probably the second volume that ended with a cliffhanger that I couldn't wait to get the next chapter. I can't wait 🫢😲.
And Griffith... oh Griffith. He's going to lose his freaking mind and I cannot WAIT to see it.
