I'm sad to see the end of Aliza and Alistair's story, but I'm not sad to be at the end of this series.
Where as I love Aliza and Alistair, I found the pacing of this book very messy. There were some parts of this I absolutely loved and there was a lot of parts that seemed unnecessary.
It has made me sad that Aliza never grew to be more than a nakla herbologist, I thought Elle would have started her on a Rider path, but no. Part of me always wanted her to get a dragon, but it seems it was not meant to be. Aliza's character did seem very side character turned main.
Alistair was great. I loved his story line, but I wanted more action from him. I wanted more displays of his prowess. However, I do love the fact that Elle chose to show Alistair's softer side and there was never any shame for Alistair feeling his emotions.
Overall I did enjoy this book, but it definitely needed refinement.
