Really good. A few repetitive phrases stuck out but overall this had a good hook and I want to read more in this series.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. The writing was good and the story was OK. I did roll my eyes a little at the insta-love thing going on, and it was clear that this was a prequel to fill out a series rather than stand completely on its own, but it does work well on its own at the same time.

I'm currently unsure if I should read more by the writer or not. Two other of her books are currently free on Audible, but the fact that this was clearly a romance puts me off. Time will tell, I guess.
