Not your normal Pendergrast novel, but an intersting read for the most part

Another page turner from the Preston/Childs duo that has produced 20 Pendergast books. The series began in 1995 with Relic and the latest, Bloodless is, to me, the most like that original in concept. For fans, this is another home run. For those who have never read them, I recommend beginning at the beginning with Relic, for although the hero seems ageless, you will appreciate the richness of the character development among his supporting cast.

I am an avid fan of Preston and Child writers, the Pendergast series being my favorite. I have read the entire series. I awaited the release of this book with great anticipation. Normally, I spend all of my spare time reading until I finish the book. I agree with many of the other disappointed reviewers. Coldmoon is NOT a good character in the storyline. D'Agosta was so much better. The book was interesting and believable until it went off the rails with the parallel universe. At that point, I began to wonder if my favorite authors were still the ones writing the book. The level of the writing dropped off dramatically and the storytelling felt like maybe a protege was asked to finish the book. If the storyline of Constance is not continued, I really don't see where the writers are going with the next book. Even though I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in this book, I will still give the writers one more chance with their next book in the hope that they may redeem themselves and get back to writing quality level books. Sorry, Preston and Child. You missed the mark this time!

It's not my favorite of the Pendergast series, but it's not terrible either. Plenty of sleuthing and a bit more paranormal than usual.
The end was a bit of a stretch.

I’ve read 20 of these in a year and somehow they are still (for the most part) amazing. I can’t believe I have to wait 5 months for another one!

Didn’t finish. It was irritatingly silly. So sad. I have loved these authors from the very beginning.
