Loved it! Slow to start but then stayed up to 3am to finish this because I couldn't put it down. I adore Lucien and thought he and Fayre might have become a couple at first. I do have a soft spot for a Beauty and the Beast story and this was great. Can't wait to start reading the next book!

This book was enjoyable but maybe too much hype and so I expected fantastic. Outside of my usual genre, this fantasy, world building almost retelling of beauty and the beast was interesting to a point, but the certain points it almost seemed as if we were in a hurry to get the book over with, and lacked depth.

I’ve heard the 2nd book is better, so I am excited to start that!

So what to say, the plot twist at the end was somewhat expected since we all knew this was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast and a “She” is mentioned at page 87 so it basically was a very big buildup to the big reveal. But I personally didn’t mind it.
I loved Feyre’s character, especially in the third act, she’s really resilient and persistent so I admire that!
I really liked Tamlin throughout the entire book but as soon as Rhysand showed up I was all in for the real enemies to lovers trope with him.
Tamlin was from the get go a real softy, he didn’t even try to be “an enemy” and we now know why, still it’s not really an enemies to lovers story with Tam.
Nesta at the end basically did a 360° and I appreciate that, I still don’t like her father tho
I liked the villan but the motivations are not really there, she kinda was there with no reason, at least to me. I wished we got to see her be more evil and stuff like that, she was mostly just annoying and not really scary. She made a lots of threats but didn’t really followed them through (?). The whole thing didn’t really seemed planned out but I enjoyed a lot how it ended. I loved that she became a faerie and that now she can stay in the faerie realms!

At the time I read it, it was great. Now it’s fine, not really my thing.

🇬🇧: I was a little afraid to start in this book, because it is such a hype with the bookcommunity. The only thing that I can say about that is that that is totally for good reason! I immediately felt bad for feyre and when she met tamlin I immediately fell in love with him and their bond. Every karakter is written in a way that you get an clear image of all of them. The way the book is written is also amazing
I finnished it in 2,5 days (a record for me) and I can't wait to dive in in the other parts of this series. I recommend this book to everyone who loves romantasy with spice. Because the spice that is in this book is really good 🫣
