I decided to read this book because I brought a poster with 100 books to read in your lifetime and the first book was on the poster. It was adorable and a refreshing change that I decided to carry on with the series.

This book is still based on Joe, Bessie and Franny. They are fed up when Connie comes to stay – she's so stuck-up, bossy and spoilt, but they don’t let her stop them having fun with their tree-friends. Silky, Moon-Face and the Saucepan Man. Together they climb through the cloud at the top of the Faraway Tree and visit the wonderful places there, the Land of Secrets and the Land of Treats and Connie will learn to behave herself!

This series is still adorable and brave. Each of these characters all had a very distinctive personality and weaknesses and strengths. I loved that the friends in the free were seen more in this book like Mr Wazisname and Saucepan Man’s mum. I love that the children’s mum has just accepted the tree friends and is like have some bread to take up the tree. Again, I am gutted I didn’t read this book as a child, and I wished I had to see it from a child’s perspective and an adult perspective. I love that Connie had what was coming to her but then she grew up a bit in this book.

Just like the series so far and with it being a children’s book, there was nothing to dislike with this book, I knew that it would be obvious and a bit predictable and knowing that nothing was going to happen to our beloved characters.

Overall, I enjoyed it, and I will carry on with this series even if I’m nearly 24-years-old.
