Glad things are picking up character wise, and that villain reveal though UGH I'm so mad I didn't see it coming 💀 definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series, though I'm hoping it kind of switches it up a bit beyond running around to different places and then battling the boss in some place with the gang....

It was obviously better than the first two, so I really enjoyed reading it ( or listening to it on Spotify).

This is the first truly great book in the series. There are legitimate stakes and consequences, the action and pacing is fast and relentless in a great way and the mystery is legitimately compelling. Obviously no spoilers but the final chapters are genuinely quite gory and disturbing for the intended age. Some moments of the final pages I have remembered since I last read the book, over ten years ago.

Hopefully the rest of the series lives up to this one. Onto book 4!
