Another amazing book by Libba Bray. This was a great sequel to A Great and Terrible Beauty, and once again I couldn't put this down.

Despite the annoying characters, it's a fun and fast-paced story.

Personally think it's less polished than the 1st one. i'm not agree on some of the details. it has an ok ending, though.

IM IN AWE I’m writing this review at two in the morning because that was when I finished this book. I am absolutely amazed by this wonderful work of art, I can’t even produce a coherent sentence to explain how incredible this was, tomorrow I’ll try to write something a little more understandable

And for a moment, I understand that I have friends on this lonely path; that sometimes your place is not something you find, but something you have when you need it.

Okay, an actual review: This was a rollercoaster, a mess, a never-ending series of laughs, gasps and tears, all at the same time. The writing improved in this one too, A LOT, and the plot thickened incredibly, as well. Moreover, the characters were a lot more tri-dimensional than in A Great and Terrible Beauty.

All in all, I would 100% recommend reading this book, it's a masterpiece, believe me. And I don't say this many times!

I still feel the way I did about the first of this series. However, I think this second book escalated to deeper, darker places, which is an automatic win in my book. Another reviewer on Goodreads described this series as Harry Potter meets Mean Girls, I agree, but let's also add a tad of Twilight (love interest (s)). I like that Bray seems to be more willing to dig into the psyche of other characters a bit in this second book in a way that adds depth to characters that I cared less about in the first book. I look forward to see how the third book expands the story, the characters, and the power of the realms.
