Super cheesy cute romcom. I ended up skipping most of the spicy scenes., bc after the first it seemed a bit much. But the revenge theme was a fun trope to read.

Love being petty, love the need for revenge but as soon as Damien was introduced and it was obvious how kind and sweet and genuine he was I immediately felt gross about her plan. It made me feel so uncomfortable, I felt like I was a part of her plan by reading because he doesn't deserve to be part of the plan, to be used as a pawn. Love being petty, I myself am petty but if it hurts other people it isn't petty, it's mean. I wanted her to call off the plan straight away (Iwrote this bit 124 pages in).

Goddamn! I love that it linked in to the other series (Springbrook Hills) I read by Morgan Elizabeth with Hunter, Autumn, Tony, Luna, Hannah etc! What a nice tie in! Really well done and fits in with them and the like timelines and details and everything and made sense to do that.

Damien is an angel and didn't deserve to be a pawn in a game and I'm so glad she knew her feelings by that point and realised it was wrong of her from the start. I will say this, this book had be outwardly screaming out in annoyance at how often she could have told him but didn't, I was genuinely so hurt at the thought of him getting hurt which shows there was some damn good writing in it for me to love the character that much. I love him and how honest he was and how much he liked Abbie just for herself and didn't want to change who she was. He helped build up her confidence and let her be who she was.

I did really like Abbie and I can totally empathise with her and how poorly she was treated by her ex. She deserved to get revenge and to have a good life and her ex deserved all the shit he ended up getting. It was a good example of karma, even if she did help along the karma at some points. I'm glad she managed to see through what he did to her and to not allow him back.

Overall, the love in this was swoonworthy, Damien was swoonworthy and the spice was great. I was fully invested hoping for a happy ending and for hoping she would tell him the truth and that no one would end up hurt. And a cute epilogue.

This deserves all the hype it got and is definitely one of my 2023 highlights (if not one of my romance highlight). Abbie and Damien are perfect for eachother and seeing their relationship develop from "not in it for anything serious" to "hey you're my soulmate" was so beautiful — and I wasn't complaining about the revenge plot 😉 I was scared there was gonna be a typical 75% break-up but it wasn't what I expected and I'm so glad. The way The Drama™ was handled was so much more fitting for the characters and really realistic. I loved to see Abbie reinvent herself after her relationship with Richard and I'm so glad we're starting to turn over a new page in romance mc's who embrace their femininity and love for girlish things instead of pushing it away. Morgan Elizabeth's books just get better with each one she writes and I'm so happy to be along the ride with her ❤

P.S.: Download the bonus scene! Totally worth it for my Hannah & Abbie sister feels

This was an absolute delight from start to finish. A good ole HEA with amazing spice and character development for days. I’ll definitely be rereading this one.

The ending confrontation felt just a tad too anticlimactic to get a 5 stars from me but this book had me hooked immediately and kept me wanting more.
Fans of Legally Blonde will absolutely eat this **** up. I'd know ;)
Some of the s*x scenes I wanted to skip over because I'm not a big fan of Dom/sub and that's what that book gave me but they were still good and didn't take much away from me loving this book.
The last time that Abbie tried to tell Damien the truth frustrated me a lot. Damien just completely ignored that she wanted to tell him something, leading to the whole thing...

Richard the Dick truly lived up to the awful piece of trash man and I just wish there had been more of a gotcha moment where his entire world is destroyed (I mean, there is that a little but he's bad enough to deserve worse imo)
Overall a very enjoyable read and it had definitely earned a spot in the "future reread" pile. Also the writing was very good and I can't wait to dive into more by them.
