Such potential here. Saw this on a book list and wanted to give it a try. I was really enjoying it about 50 pages in when a character (friend of the main character) is introduced that used the f-word 3 times in the space of one page. Not interested. Too many books, too little time. On to the next!

I just finished this book at 1:27 am. On a "school night." It's that good.

The characters are so real. The writing is quick and witty. Fantastic and fun.

2023 PopSugar Challenge #21: A book set in the decade you were born

5 rainbow colored stars.

Attachments is an amazing debut novel by Rainbow Rowell. I highly recommend this book. It's a perfect book-club read as there is so much that can be discussed; the ethics of Lincoln's work and how he blurred the lines and his interest in Beth and Jennifer's lives.

I personally love the style of using emails, letters, Texts, etc to tell part of the story. The characters are all relatable and likable and from the very beginning I wanted to know Beth and Jennifer.
Then we are introduced to Lincoln and the story really takes off.
I immediately I found him interesting - sad and lonely but interesting. He grew into so much more as character and is one of my favorite male leads. I would love a follow-up story to see where they are now.
This book has one of my most favorite endings too.
SpoilerSweet sentiments and the HEA that ALMOST didn't happen

I liked the development of Lincoln's character but there was none of that with the other two main characters in the story. But mostly I found this book too formulaic for my tastes. Everything was too "neat" at the end, with everyone getting more or less what they wanted. Furthermore, after what seemed like months of "why doesn't he act on his feelings?" through the first 80% or so of the pages, to have Lincoln & Beth end up together in what appeared to be "happy ever after" just felt rushed to me. (But, then again, I'm not a believer in love at first sight.) So overall not my cup of tea. If you like happy endings, you will probably enjoy this book.

Very cute book. I have to admit I envied Lincoln as written, a bit. He seemed geeky, chivalrous, and just shy enough to be believable. I liked the throwback references to Y2K and life in 1999. Reminded me about what I loved best about When Harry Met Sally.

I wanted to give this book 5 stars but I felt like I was feeling too sappy and that's why I wanted to
Give it 5 stars. So let me tell you, this book is so sweet and so gaggy romantic that I should have hated it. But it wasn't romance novel gaggy or Nicholas Sparks gaggy...it was confused and bizarre but still amazingly romantic gaggy. Read it.
