Bad Blood is the first book in the Corrupt Gods Duet series. This book is told from dual points of view by Thalia Santiago and Santi Carrera.

Thalia and Santi have a chance meeting when they are young, and Santi still thinks of the girl he tried to save when they are younger. They are on opposites of mafia families. Santi and Thalia's father are enemies.

When Thalia is caught stealing money from Santi's casino to help her sister, Santi takes her prisoner. He decides that the best way to get back at her father is to force her to marry him.

However, as they are married feelings start to develop. However so many secrets and lies come out. Will Santi start to have real feelings for Thalia? Will Thalia be able to handle what Santi's family is into? Will Thalia be able to save her sister in time?

I loved every minute of this book, and can not wait to see what happens next. This book ended with something shocking, and I have to find out if Thalia and Santi get their happily ever after, or if all of the things going on in their lives will tear them apart for good.

This was a pretty good book! It was well written and I really liked the MCs. However, I like my romance books to be heavy on the romance, light on the plot or at least 60/40 and this book had a lot of plot and not enough romance for me.

I loved Thalia and Santi’s first interaction together. There was tension and wit and it was just great. But we only get like one more scene of them seriously interacting with each other and the rest are just crumbs. There was also a small time jump right in the middle of them developing their relationship and to me that the best part!

I think the ending would have had a greater impact if I felt more connected to their relationship but I still enjoyed the book and am very intrigued on where it’s going!

Not bad. It’s rare to find Mexican cartel/mafia books so I’m glad for the representation. I liked both the MCs. Thalias comments were so entertaining. And of course who doesn’t like a possessive alpha male like Santi. But the cliffhanger

Ooooh, I loved this book! I absolutely loved the Carrera and the Santiago trilogies, and this is their legacy! Literally.

Thalia is the headstrong Santiago daughter, being blackmailed and wanting to protect her sister, she puts herself at risk to make the last of the money she needs to pay her blackmailer. But the mysterious man she sees at the casino throws her off her game, and she takes too many chances and puts herself in his sights. Then she learns it’s Santi Carrera, her family’s sworn enemies.

This is truly an enemies to lovers tale. Their families hate each other, with decades of bad blood between them for a multitude of reasons, despite having worked together at one point for a common goal. But all that changes when Santi sees an opportunity, and Thalia is backed into a corner, and these warring families are now bound together through the marriage of their children. Santi sees it as a chance at revenge. He has agreed to give her the money she needs for just one week of a marriage where she must make it appear as genuine as possible. And Thalia is so desperate to protect her sister, that she’ll do anything, so she agrees.

This is so intriguing, the way the grievances of the parents are carried down to the children. And the children carry those grievances ferociously and loyally. But when it comes down to it, when they’re met with the enemy, face to face, do they really understand what the fighting is for? There is so much back story in both of these families. I loved seeing them come together like this, and I can’t wait to read the next book in this duet!!

The timeframe is one week and wow does a lot happen! Thalia and Santi, both come from mob families but they're rivals. What starts off as a fake marriage turns into real feelings and lots of sexual tension. Santi is the ultimate alpha male. It ends in a dramatic cliffhanger!

   | Bad Blood is interesting. Interesting and peak my interest. I avoiding NA dark romance lately because I picked up a bad books in this category lately.
I have not read all the series from Carerra and Santiago. But Bad Blood can be easily follow without prior understanding of the mafia war between these 2 family.

Miss Kenborn does not spend too much on the push and pull between Santi and Thalia. She just put enough fire on her story and setting the pace fast moving on the plot. I like the chemistry between Santi and Thalia. With min push and pull, I can skip the skepticism and annoying of usually a heorine possesed on other dark romance books.

Overall a very enjoyable read.
