Ugh rating this one is hard! A wholesome historical romance (no bodice ripping here!) but I went into it thinking it was going to be more in line with Julia Quinn's novels (read also: bodice ripping!) so I was slightly disappointed we only get two chaste kisses in the last 6 pages (yes, I absolutely counted). BUT there were parts I really liked: how the end showed both Radcliffe AND Kitty being heroes in their own way and the banter was decent, with a nice nod to Austen's P&P. So four stars with the caveat that if you're looking for spice, keep a-moving.

Thank you to Netgalley for the ebook arc! I'm going to be honest here, it has been a few months since I have read this book and some of the details are fuzzy.
A Lady's Guide to Fortune-Hunting was an enjoyable read. I do not remember a whole lot of the characters outside of Kitty and her eccentric aunt, nor the plot, outside of their plot to gain a fortune. I did however, find that the humor in the story helped to keep me going through some parts of it. Kitty is the heroine and unlike other historical novels, she actually is a fortune hunter (instead of just an accused one, or the hot gossip of the season). She cares deeply about her family and ensuring their survival, which makes her a relatable and likable character.
Overall, it was a normal, enjoyable historical novel, but there weren't many stand out plot points that drove the emotional connection to the story. Rated 4 stars, but closer to 3.5.

I really love the way this book was written. I did not expect the story to take such a turn. It is full of drama and i lived for it! Fortune hunting is not an easy task but my God, with the right luck and perseverance, things work out quite well!

Thank you, @netgalley, and @penguinrandomouse, for the eARC and in return, an honest review.
“You see me, in my entirety - the worst and the best of me…”
My Thoughts:
Kitty Talbot is very determined to find a rich husband during the London Season to save her home and sisters from destitute. Although she had a few potential candidates, she aimed a tad higher than expected. James, the Earl of Radcliffe, had no desire to go home after his father’s death. His relationship with his father was toxic. But a distressed letter from his mother changed his mind.
This book made me laugh. I love the banter between Kitty and James. Kitty’s younger sister, Cecily, was a character. Always getting Kitty caught in a lie. This is the first regency book I’ve read without steamy scenes. It’s more tamed and romantic. Fast-paced, funny, and just sweetest.

A great quick read romance. If you like Bridgerton you’ll love this.
