What a fascinating book. I bought it from the Cheltenham Literature Festival having heard Sharon Dodua Otoo read from and speak about the book. I was fascinated by the thought of a name being several people connected through time and objects! The book didn’t disappoint - and all very satisfyingly drawn together at the end.

Although whenever I picked up this book I found it difficult to get stuck into, as soon as I got into the flow of it, it was a real treasure.
I haven’t read such an original concept since I don’t know when. And for it to be well executed as well is even better - god knows how much planning had to go into this to make sure every timeline ended up pulling together as perfectly as they did.
I didn’t always love the prose - sometimes it could be beautiful, others it felt slightly clunky (though I don’t know if this is due to it being a German translation.) Regardless, I’ll be recommending this to many many friends!
