I am thrilled with how this story played out and loved every second. It's a complicated world full of so many different dynamics and layers, I could not get enough. I loved Dmitri and Keira! They had an intense and volatile relationship and as soon as I picked it up, I was gone to this world the author has created.

Since first meeting Dmitri Romanov, I have wanted his story. This gruff villain that you want to hate but he does these small, endearing things that have you rooting for him. His story did not disappoint. He was so complex and passionate. He was a fantastic anti-hero. Now Keira, she had some problems and I was not her biggest fan in the beginning. Seeing her work through her issues, let down her guard, and really grow into this amazing force was awesome. By the end, I was her biggest fan!

Together Dmitri and Keira were crazy awesome, like fire and ice. There's a lot of tension and simmering passion between them and I could feel that push and pull. I loved their verbal sparring, some snarky, some sweet, but the more they come together the more playful it gets and it made them really entertaining together. I loved those special moments between them. And the passion? Holy heck this sucker was hot. It was like a building pent up energy between them. All that want and need made for some really heated scenes.

The storyline was fantastic and I loved all the drama making this a serious page turner. There's an excellent cast of characters as well from previous stories so you get a glimpse of everyone in the series. This is completely standalone so you won't be lost while reading but I highly suggest reading in order just because you see this awesome build in Dmitri over the course of the entire series.

I love this world that Katee Robert has created in The O’Malleys series. It's full, detailed, and intense. Each book has had me hooked every time but this one, hands down, is my absolute favorite. A must read!

I loved this finale to the O'Malleys.

Keira was processing a lot and by the end of the book she came into her own. I really liked how that all played out.

Dmitri was a great. He was absolutely determined to make this work with Keira and I loved watching him slowly falling in love with her.

Also on Romances Ever After as a part of the blog tour.

Listen, I finished this book the first time a month ago and wasn't able to write a coherent enough review for it, so I thought I'd reread before release date in hopes that I could properly express my feelings...but nah. I love this book, guys, and you know when Lisa loves a book, she'll go all gushy about it.

I had qualms about this pair--sure, they wanted to boink each other senseless but would they work beyond the lust? Once I got into the story, all my doubts disappeared because Dmitri and Keira were so good together. I love how they were together and how they changed because of each other.

Keira was a hot mess after her closest sibling died. Being the youngest O'Malley, she often got sidelined and overlooked by her older siblings. She has felt powerless for a long time, she was losing control over her own life by choosing alcohol and drugs over reality again and again. It's truly ironic that she found power and control after marrying Dmitri. After Dmitri forced her into sobriety (what a ruthless little shit), we got to see more of her strength and feisty ways.

Anyway, remember when I used to hate Dmitri Romanov? Yeah, how the turn tables... I mean, I already sort of knew I was going to love Dmitri after book #4, but I didn't imagine I would love him this much. He made no apologies for who he was, though we could see in the story that he had a couple of regrets about the past, especially since what he did affected his relationship with Keira. We could see a gentle side of him whenever he was with his niece, but being with Keira made him a little more human, I feel? I love how Keira kept calling him gentleman-murderer because that's exactly what he was, and I don't know what it says about me because I love him just the way he is.

I love the way Dmitri and Keira were together. Dmitri, of all people, truly saw Keira and saw what she truly could be: a motherfucking queen. I enjoyed watching Keira challenging Dmitri at every turn, making him crazy, keeping him on his toes, because he truly deserved that after putting the O'Malleys through the ringer with his plans, LOL. In turn, I adore the way Dmitri was with Keira. Who would have thought he had it in him to be gentle and kind? We also got to see Dmitri and Keira being all domestic with each other one minute, and a power couple the next.

Overall, I'm a little sad that this series is over, but I'm happy that it ended on a high. I think Aiden and Dmitri tied as my favourite Katee Robert heroes now (so sorry, James! I still love you, though). Time to reread from the start!

This review was originally posted on Addicted To RomanceI received this book for free from Forever in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

The Bastard's Bargain is a passion filled and angst packed romance that will send you sensations and tingles from head to toe....a vibrant and powerfully provoking tale!!

WHAT A BOOK!!! I have been looking forward to this book ever since book one came out and boy it was a wild ride but one I had a blast to participate in. Now this is the last book of the O'Malley series (as far as I know) ...to be honest I think the ending of this book left me a bit unsure, it wasn't as final as I was expecting it to be so maybe another book or novella...who knows but I am SO *crossing fingers* that this isn't the end.

I will say that this is one of the most intense and action-packed books of the series, although I would like to mention that all of them are configured to turn out that way because these definitely aren't calm or cool like vibes....they are intense and crazy and out of this world but you fall in love anyway.

Our key players of this intense romance are:

  • Keira O’Malley is the youngest of the siblings, and she is struggling the most out of all of them. She feels guilty for her brother's death. She is the most "lost" of them all. She feels like a misfit around her siblings, and she drowns her pain in alcohol and drugs.

  • Dmitri Romanov is tough as nails and hardened as he was born to be. He is the boss of the Romanov. He is dangerous, calculating and cold at times. But also craves something more and he senses that he can have something unique with Keira and that she will warm the ice around him.

So this book pretty much takes off after book five. Where our heroine, Keira, agrees to go with Dmitri and be his wife. She chooses to leave her family and take part in her own destiny. But it's not as easy as she thinks it might be. At first, all she cares about is getting away from the protectiveness of her family and nothing else. Until Dmitri forces her to become more than a drug addict. He pretty much makes her go cold turkey from the drugs and the drinking. He knows that she is the weakest with her senses out of whack and he needs her to be sober. Because marriage to him is not going to be safe or easy. He knows what she is capable of and wants her to be his partner...his queen.
"Do I have a choice?"

Dmitri watched her closely. "I won't force you there any more than I'd force you to have sex. It's your choice, It's always been your choice."

Now Keira isn't like the other siblings, she is harder to like. I knew that going in that this book wouldn't be easy at times especially with this heroine because out of all the siblings, she struggles the most internally. Now I love this crazy family, but we see another side to them in this book and I loved how strong Keira stands up to them. They don't really realize that she CHOOSES to be with Dmitri because he understands her in ways that her family never will or never will be open to understanding. It happens when you have highly overprotective brothers that act before thinking.

There is also some great scenes of suspense and action that I have come to look forward to in these books and Katee Robert's does them so well. We still have our villains Althea and Mae and boy are these two a piece of work and boy I really liked the justice they receive FINALLY!!! But there was a fun twist of a betrayal that you totally don't see coming. But seeing this couple just come together in this book is so FANTASTIC!! I honestly couldn't get enough of them mostly because they fit just right. They both have inner demons they deal with daily, but once they decide to take a chance on each other, the ball on this romance really gets rolling. We see so much growth, especially in Keira. She begins painting again and just living life and not swallowing in her own misery. And we see a different tender side to Dmitri, and he makes the best anti-hero that you will fall head over heels in love with.
I'll never get enough of you. You are mine and I am yours, and I'm keeping you for the rest of our fucking lives. I love you, you crazy woman and I'm never letting you go.

Quite frankly, this book knocked my socks off and the only reason it's not a five star is the ending was a bit disappointing, to be honest. But other than that...this book was full speed ahead FANTASTIC and I can't recommend it enough!!
