Such a fun book by a very passionate author. Serves as a biography for various existentialist figures. Very easy to read. Enjoyed getting lost in the lives of the humanised versions of Sarte, Heidegger, Husserl etc. The kind of book that makes you want to read 10 others on the subject.

I listened to the audio book, it was good, good explanations of both concepts, especially those pertaining to phenomenology, as well as historical aspects. I wasn't however, a fan of how much the author let their personal biases seep in to the story. It felt like out of nowhere the author would just go on a an anti communist rant without a proper understanding of what they were talking about, at one point the book just pivots and praises Havel uncritically despite all the wrong he's done. A good read but a little disappointing. I recommend reading something like black shirts and reds before this so you have a proper historical understanding.
