This was a great follow-up to the first volume, even though this follows a different story arc. This time Goldie and her friend, Cheryl, discover an unconscious astronaut washed up on the beach. However, soon both the astronaut and Cheryl disappear and it’s up to Goldie to try and find them. But she also discovers that there is a lot about Cheryl that she didn’t know about. This a cute graphic novel with great artwork! 5/5 Stars.

I think this is a really great series, but it's not for me. I was never big into Nancy Drew, but that's not to say that there's anything wrong with this graphic novel. The characters are great, the plot is great, the setting is great, the dialogue and art style are great. Everything is great, it's just not my taste. I wanted to stick with this series because queer women (especially queer woman of colour as the main character, hell yes) are always a plus in my book but the Nancy Drew stuff just isn't my style. Very awesome comics though!

I think I liked Vol 2 more than Vol 1--such cute art!

Note: setting is 1963

If you thought the first volume was outlandish, this one was downright ludicrous, but honestly I was on board with it. In fact, it was exactly the plot’s loopiness that was so engaging to me. The fact that it was well-paced and -structured only helped matters.

I liked that the story was focussed on the friendship between Goldie and Cheryl. Not only was it sweet to see friendship foregrounded like this, but it also provided an avenue for some meaningful character development in Goldie. She builds her empathy skills and learns about her tendency to centre herself.

In terms of negatives, I agree with other reviewers that the art seemed a bit rushed. I am also still not feeling the romance chemistry-wise.

This series is such a joy and volume two was just as good (if not slightly better?) as the first! I’m loving these characters so much, the art style is gorgeous and the plots are easy to read, addictive and heaps of fun. I also officially want to take all and any future style advice from Dianne and borrow a little of Goldie’s gutsy attitude.

The Goldie Vance graphic novels keep getting better and better. I love the mystery of this volume. I like seeing more of Goldie and her friends. I also love the art style of the novels. Can not wait to read more.

I still really liked Vol 2, but the pacing wasn't as good as the first volume. Still looking forward to Vol 3
