I don't know what it is, but for some reason I'm just not as enchanted by this series as I once was. Maybe it's that its taken quite a turn in a direction that I'm not interested in. This book isn't bad by any means, rather I still do recommend it, but it's just not what Wicked Lovely once was.

This book was very satisfying on all accounts! I never liked Keenan with Ash, but I loved Seth with Ash. I always felt sorry for Donia, and now, she's happy with Keenan. Crazy war has been taken care of, and things are peaceful between the courts once again.

I loved that Ash took charge of her life and her court, it was about time she stopped whining, and behaving like a little girl. She's going to be a great summer queen now. And Keenan was always too selfish, but now that he's with Donia, I'm sure that his love for her will make him less so. He did think he sacrified his life for her, and even was mortal for a year, so that definitely shows that he's now able to think of someone else than himself.

Irial and Niall's story was strange, but good. And I'm really glad Irial is not dead anymore. When he died in the beginning, I thought all was lost, but good for me, I kept reading.

However, I am very sad that there will be no more books, I would love to read more about the relationships between the court, and the blooming romances as well.

WARNING: This review is going to be a crazy mix of everything that happened in the book.

Wow. Just wow. This was really a great way to end the series and I'm so happy with it. And bonus everyone has a happy ending! Seth and Ash are together. Keenan and Don are together and he didn't stay a mortal after risking his life for her, he was able to become a Winter Fairy again. Irial isn't dead. Leslie, Niall, and Iri can all be together. Bananach's dead, though Iri took her place he'll be able to balance everything out just fine. I mean, what else is there to say? Although I would liked to read more about Ani and Devlin, but maybe she will write a short story with them. Overall, great book and a perfect ending to the series!

Books 1, 3 + 5 were definitely the best in the series. I love that it ended with a twist, keeping it unpredictable.
Good series. Glad I read it as I started it in high school and never finished it, but it is quite YA

Why did I waste my time with these books? I mean, really. I read five of them. Each and every one was poorly written, they jump all over the place, there are entirely too many plot devices that feel like cop outs, they aren't well constructed. I can't believe I read ALL five of them?

But, if it means anything, I read all five of them. Something just makes you read. Who the heck knows what that something is. But here I am having read all five of them.

Geesh.

description

Annnnnd that's it folks, the Wicked Lovely series is done. There is some deep part of me that doesn't want to part with it, mostly because I love the characters so much. I heart actually aches at the thought that there won't be one more book. Well, enough of that~ on to the review.

Where to start? Where to start? There is so much that I want to say about it but first off, I just want to set the record straight: I enjoyed this book. I love Melissa Marr's writing and it's true what one reviewer on here said. She writes in the way that you start reading Chapter 1 and before you know it you are already half way through the book. You just can't seem to put them down! I first started this series where I was a sophomore in high school and by then, Ink Exchange had barely come out. I guess I semi grew up reading this series. And the character within these books are some of the best and one of the few I will always treasure.

For all it's worth (AND HERE COME THE SPOILERS), we got the happy ending we all wanted.
-Irial got to live!
-Niall got his Irial annnnd still be the Dark King, hooray!
-The threesome of Leslie, Irial, & Niall still gets to live. SUPER HOORAY.
-Seth and Aislinn are together.
-Donia and Keenan.
-Keenan is no longer Summer King so no weird attraction things there...
-And so on and so on....

Everything just ended the way it should have been. Although you can argue that it could ALL have been avoided if Keenan had just made the choice he made here from the very beginning. But I can see how that was the very last choice, thing, he could have done. And I'm glad how the book ended the way it started with Donia and Keenan. (I freaking love Donia btw. And HATE Keenan.) I guess you can say that it was their love story all along.

I don't think I had any objections to anything. Although I wished the book could have been a bit longer. The ending didn't seem entirely rushed, since it was all building up to the war anyway, but I felt that by this point in the series, Marr had so many characters on board that she had to tie all the lose ends in one book. Even then, we still don't get enough of some characters. I loved how she embedded the last chapter from Radiant Shadows (from Devlin's POV) and brought it back into DM (from Seth's POV). It showed, at least to me, that all these stories and characters were tied together. And where one ended the other picked up.

Still throughout the book you can't help but question things. Whatever happened to Sorcha? Will Aislinn ever get to meet her? Ani and Dev? Or that vow/promise that Keenan made to that water fey?? Is that still going? But despite these things, I had nooooo problem with this book. I loved how it ended. And in the long run, I loved how fleshed out the entire world and characters were. I like to think that conflicts and resolutions don't just resolve in a three book, but it take time, decisions, a movement of choices made by characters to set things in motion. And how those decisions affect others. That is what made Marr's series wonderful. It was a journey that all these characters needed to take in order to grown. And I loved every second of it.

This is getting way too long already. Anyways, love this series to no end. Best faerie world. Best titles. Best covers. Best characters. :))
