Really like the art in this. Giant Days has an engaging storyline and nicely reflects the troubles of college/uni life. Certainly worth a re-read.

Read for The Reading Rush 2020
Challenge: Read a book completely outside your house

I REALLY ENJOYED THIS. Love the characters and the humor. I laughed out loud so many times. And it's wholesome too, I really felt like I relate to this group of friends in many ways.
I feel like the story itself is lacking an actual plot, it felt like short stories combined, but I liked it anyways.

This is such a fun and sweet graphic novel! It's very slice of life; the friendships were amazing! I loved the dynamic between these three girls. While I did enjoy it, this book was just too short. I wanted more from all of these characters. I'm definitely keeping on with this series!

John Allison has done all of the art for Scary Go Round and Bad Machinery, but for some reason, he has another artist illustrating Giant Days while he writes the stories. This results in a similar pace, humor, and vibe, but the art is vastly different. This wouldn’t be such an issue, except that one of the three main characters is Esther de Groot, who was introduced in Scary Go Round and was a major player in the latter volumes of that series. Now she’s off at college looking totally different? It’s like recasting a major character who fans liked enough that they got their own spinoff series. Other than my dislike of the change in art style, the book was cute. I appreciate having a queer character. The book did start in media res. There must be some sort of missing link between this book and Scary Go Round. I wish I knew where I could find that.
