I had to suspend my disbelief for part of this (there was no way I was believing that Kasia is 500 years old) but overall kinda fun. I've never read a shifter romance so that was interesting - trying to picture Brand as a dragon was a difficult task at times. I just kept thinking of the dragons from How to Train Your Dragon which are clearly not an accurate depiction of size nor appearance, so thank you to God of War for providing great dragon references my brain could actually remember from my play through.

I did love the banter between Brand and Kasia when it happened. There was some really great scenes and dynamic between them, part of which I did feel went downhill after they had become mates. I would have liked some more exploration of their relationship after the fact. I'm sure it will be somewhat mentioned in the next books, as the main narrative seems to follow this specific group of characters.

I did find the aspect that female dragons are sterile very problematic - not to mention how there aren't even that many female dragons to begin with. Hoping that Owen maybe explores this in the future books and comes up with less of a problematic idea surrounding it?? It just really doesn't sit well with me.
