All in all, I enjoyed this. Phoenixes are rare and valuable because mating with a Phoenix gives you the keys to the kingdom so to speak. The heroine and her 3 sisters are separated after the death of their mother for their safety.

The heroine is found by a supernatural Private Investigator dragon shifter who is such a smoke show, that he makes her lose her mind. I described him as a D(ragon)ILF and I stand by my observation.

Read this if you want political drama, secrets, and literally smoking hot sex scenes.

I received a copy from the publisher. My opinions are my own.

A new to me author that I have definitely already become a fan of. I don't read paranormal enough. I love this genre. This story is a great start to a new series that I am looking forward to reading more of. It is sexy and suspenseful and the world building definitely has me completely intrigued. I so can't wait for more of these characters.

I loved this book! I'm still teetering on if I'm gonna make it a full 5 stars or not. I've missed paranormal romance so much! It has always been my thing, but I haven't been able to find much that appeals to me as of late. This series, however, great start! I know I'm going to devour this series!

Kasia was a great FMC. She was strong and independent, and she knew what she needed to do to stay alive. She was willing to do what was necessary to keep herself and her sisters safe. She also had this gut feeling about Brand, despite being afraid of what he was for obvious reasons due to her history, she knew she could trust him. She was even willing to sacrifice herself for the betterment and protection of everyone. She was kind and understanding, but also brave and determined to do everything she could for those she cared about. I don't think there was a single point in the book that I felt annoyed or irritated by her. I understood why she did the things she did and I respected her for it. She was the perfect compliment to Brand.

Give me a loner bad boy any day. Dear lord! Brand was just my kind of MMC. Brooding and angry at the world, and only wanting to do what was necessary to get revenge. Little did he know the universe had something else up it's sleeve for him. He was just the right amount of protective and snarky. He was inexplicably drawn to Kasia and despite trying to fight it, he only ended up digging himself further under her skin. I was obsessed with him from the beginning.

I couldn't put this book down! It was written well and I adored the characters! I'm so excited to jump into the next one and see where this story goes!
