This is a pretty lightweight book, but it is good for what it is. The plot line is semi-plausible, and it held my attention. When you want something not too intense, and, in the end, soothing, it will do the trick.

I just couldn't connect with this one. I thought the premise was really interesting, between the love triangle and car accident, but Emma never quite won me over. The writing wasn't bad, but I found myself rolling my eyes at a lot of the dialogue. I did enjoy the first few chapters a lot, and the last few won me over a bit (except for "The End". Did not care for that AT ALL.), but the entire middle dragged for me.

A fun read, but not spectacular. I enjoyed it but not the best read of the year.
(No full review because I'm on holiday in SCOTLAND and living my best life)

I will start this review off by saying I try to avoid love triangles. However, every now and then, I'll read a blurb and I my curiosity gets the best of me.
Just days before her wedding to her childhood sweetheart, Emma's bridal party gets into a tragic accident, resulting in the lost of one of her best friend and Emma rescued by American named Jack. Emma's wedding is postpone and from here we seen Emma is immediately drawn to the man who rescued her.
I did not like any of the Characters in this book. I didn't find Emma, Jack or Richard likeable or relatable. Though there were a few times I felt bad for Richard because I found Emma to overreact quite a bit. It was almost as if the author was using her actions to justify her attraction to Jack.
Even though I did not like any of the characters, I was drawn into the story. The ending however was flat, and disappointing, and seemed to come out of nowhere. I also didn't feel the chemistry between Emma and Jack, as they were written on the page.

After loving Dani Atkins Fractured I was excited to start this one and boy was i not disappointed! Again i could not put it down.
I really enjoy her writing style and her ability to capture me right from the opening chapter. The story of us is a beautiful story portraying love, loss and desire. A perfect story for all of those hopeless romantics.
I loved the characters in this book, especially Jack and the chemistry build between him and Emma. Atkins has the ability to draw you in and feel yourself almost become Emma.
It kept me intrigued until the end which pleasantly surprised me, at first wanting more but happy with how it was tied up. The book also opens with the end chapter, which sets the scene of the basis of the story. These chapters are then dotted throughout the book. I loved how it did not reveal the actual events right until the last chapter, a nice little surprise ending.
Another great easy read from Dani, looking forward to ant more to come.

Started off well, albeit the ridiculous thoughts running through the heroine's mind at the most inappropriate times, but then it became entirely too predictable and the storyline became very protracted.

This was my first experience with Dani Atkins and I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed this read it and found it a pleasure from start to finish.
Contrary to popular belief (I suppose even my own) I do enjoy a HEA story from time to time. However, they don't always have to be predictable. I was a wee bit disappointed that this one was predictable in many ways. I knew from the moment on the roadside what the secret was. I don't think it necessarily needed to be hinted about and toted though half the book. It could have been exposed far earlier than it was and worked though...
I have to say (and this is my one major complaint, and it still rubs me) **Spoiler**
I was very irritated by this bit:
"Maybe I was just being naive, but it hadn't occurred to me that after the night we'd just shared, Jack would still willing walk out of my life."
Uhhhh....hello!!!!! He had avoided getting serious with you though 85% of the book. He had told you that he had to leave. He had told you that he couldn't get serious. That he didn't believe in marriage. Yada Yada Yada....
And yet, you think because he slept with you ONLY after he asked you numerous times if you were sure and sent you away numerous times due to all those statements....well that he would magically turn into someone else? You thought you could change him? Is your vagina really that powerful? Seriously?
Okay....I DID tell you it irritated me....sorry for my little tantrum there.....but seriously women....you whine that men aren't open and honest enough and talk about their expectations, when in reality you just want what you want and ignore what they do say.....psssfffttttt....
Okay...sorry....there I go again....
Never mind.....just go and read the book! Even though it's a love triangle, it is handled well. I can't object (much) with how the heroine handled the awkwardness that I often see in love triangles...
